error message after converting Ultra66 to fasttrak66!!

I tried to convert my Ultra66 card into a Fasttrak66.I flashed the bios for the fasttrak and it flashed ok..I then soldered the 100 ohm resister on to the 16th and the 23rd pins of the promise chip with no problems..Rebooted my computer and I keep getting an error..( Disk Boot failure,Insert System Disk And Press Enter)..I tried several things but could not get it going..The hard drive will work off of the motherboard ide slot..Is there anything I can try or need to know to get the card converted and working..

Have you looked at the instructions on Promise's web site for setting up your hd for use with the raid card? I have always done a clean instal after setting up a raid card. But I think if you don't want to do that you need to get some drivers from Promise's site for it to work.

You didn't mention anything about the Promise boot bios. Is your hd showing up and correctly set up there?

I was at the promise site and updated the bios for that card .. As far as the boot bios ..It's not detecting my hard drive at all..It boots past the first bios screen with memory test and hard drive and cd rom check then I get that error message..Is there a special software to download for it to find my hard drive?I done everything as the instructions say for converting the card ..maybe it's just that something that is not configured right ..Any more help would be appreciated..

Are you not seeing the Promise bios? You mention boot bios, are you talking about for your computer or the promise bios? You should see it when you boot up. It is like a SCSI bios. First you need to define your array there before your OS will recognize the disks.

I hope this helps..I am not seeing the promise bios..There is nothing there to configure for the card..My computer boots to the first dos screen then I just get that error message ..Then I can't go any further..My card does work as the promise Ultra 66 .But I would like to try to get the card to work as a fasttrak66 if possible with out redoing my system until I get a hold of Windows me later.Any more info you need to know let me know.. Thanks
