Here's my setup:
Master HD IBM 60 XPS 40 gig with Win2k+SP2 NTFS installed.
I have a 2nd HD as the salve, IBM 75 XPS 45gig. I have it formatted with 2 Fat32 partitions and 2 partitions for Mandrake Linux 8 (Swap and Linux extended 1.8meg and 12 meg)
I will be receiving my copy of RC1 Windows XP soon. I would like to put XP, Win 98SE and Linux on the second harddrive. Suggestions of the procedure?
Ihave PartitionMagic 6 (new) on my master drive.
I don't want to fool with my master drive. Should I disconnect it before I start the install of the varios OS. What sequence should I use so I can use a boot loader. Is Boot Magic that comes with Partition Magic any good?
Thanks

I have a little experience with this, especially with Linux Mandrake 8.0.

First, I'd write zeroes and partition the secondary hard drive.

Second, I'd disconnect your primary drive and then set your secondary as the only drive.

Third, I'd install WinXP on the 1st partition.

Fourth, install 98/Me on the 2nd partition.

Fifth, reconnect primary drive and set the secondary as slave.

Sixth, install Linux Mandrake on your last partition of your secondary drive. LM will repartition that last partition into three smaller Linux partitions. LM will also install a boot choice screen. This is why you should reconnect the C: drive before Linux.

Now you'll have a choice of what OS you wamt to boot in.

I just had a dual-boot with LM on it's own secondary drive. I'd just have click Windows or Linux to boot that OS.

I would assume the installer for LM would be smart enough to do that for the other 2 OSes on your secondary drive.

If not, you'll have to use Boot Magic, and that pretty easy too.
