ok...i formated my computer from windows 2000 and want to install 95 again....i'm using a windows 98 startup disk and then when i install windows 95...it says something like there is a disk compression volume on my computer which does not allow scandisk to run..so i skip scan disk and then when i install windows 95 it does not allow me to....can anyone please help!!!

Your using the W98 startup disk to get the cdrom to work I assume...I think you need to use a W95 startup disk to fdisk and format the hard drive...THEN go to the W98 disk for the cdrom functionality. I wouldnt swear to it though cuz Ive ran into that same prob several times. Sometimes there is an "incorrect Dos version" problem. Or you could just find a W95 disk WITH the cdrom drivers etc already on it. They are online somewhere but I cant remember the link.
Im interested to know about the whole "compressed volume" deal myself.
