I have Windows 98, and d/l Redhat linux 7.1 and burned the files to the disk, In bios I made the CD-Rom boot first so I could install, but it didnt notice the disk....
How do I install?

Did you download/burn the ISO image of RH? If not, (and you kept the correct directory structure of the files) you can try using a floppy boot disk and install that way.

If you did use an ISO, check the disk in Windows, it should be (fully) readable. You should be able to browse the entire CD.

If you burned the files to disk directly from the folders, then it's not bootable, and you need to either:
a.) make a bootdisk, using the correct .img file to install from HD (look in the dosutils folder), or
b.) download and burn the .iso files, using the "create CD from CD image" method in your burner, or
c.) disable any other boot device in BIOS, except your CD-ROM.

Look at the CD. what do you see? various folders or one big file named somehting.iso?

If the latter is your case, you need to make a CD from the ISO file, not burn the ISO to a disk. What does this mean? before I go on, make sure this is the case.
