I have just gotten started in networking with a local company and while I really enjoy the job, I would really like to get into creating web pages for local business's. However I am new to all of this and have no clue as to where to start. If some one could point me in the right direction, such as books or magazines that describe some of the new technologies and format of building. Also is anyone out there making a good career out of doing this. Thanks for all the help on this subject.
With Regards,

A good book to start with would be Que's Using HTML 4.0 Special Edition. It is a 1000+ page book which is very comprehensive and comes with a CD that has sample code and exercises on it. It is a good book to start out and will teach you the basics. It also higlights other technologies such as DHTML, XML, ASP, Etc... I have been in the Site Development business for over 2 years and it is a fun and profitable business but you must keep up on all the newest technologies and they change rapidly. secondly, Most local colleges and universities offer a Internet programming class which usually cover things important to building high-end web sites such as ASP,DHTML, Etc.
