I have a PII 300 and 192 Mb RAM. I have a STB 128 2D/3D card. I also have a Voodoo 2.
I want to upgrade to a Riva TNT 2 Ultra. Will I see a major benifit over my Voodoo 2 on my PC. Is is worth going for the TNT 2 for a P2 300Mhz.
What TNT 2 is better? Diamond, Creative Labs or the Hercules.
Does the less clock speed for the Diamond really matter?
Will the 2D on the TNT 2 be as good a my Riva 128?
thanks In Advance

I can't answer your questions specifically because I never used the V2 or had a PII300 or a Riva128. But the TNT2 Ultra should easily, with better performance and image quality, take the place of both of these cards.
From all the reviews, it seems you would see quite an improvement over the V2. Running on a 300MHz machine shouldn't be a problem. I've been using the TNT for quite a while now, since it first was released. It's been used on a 19" Phillips, a couple of 21" Sony Flat screens, and a 21" NEC Pro series monitor which I'm using now. The 2D picture quality and performance is good enough not to be of any concern.
I ended up ordering the Hercules Ultra last week directly from the manufacturer. I have no idea when it's going to ship. One of the reasons I chose it was for the higher clock rates.
A lot of us overclock the TNT 10 to 15MHz over it's base setting of around 90/110. It helps. Most of the TNT2U cards ship at 150/175. Hercules guaranties their cards will ship at 175/200.
I think BBA mentioned some good things about the Creatives TNT2 in a recent post here.
