After deleting Win 2000 from a partition on my HDD, the OS boot selector screen still appears every time I restart. Anyone know how to get rid of this screen now that I'm running only Win 98?
I only had Win 2K on there for a day or so, and did not convert the file system to NTFS.
Any help is appreciated. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Boot with win98 startup floppy and run sys c: .

May I ask what sys C: exactly does?

Basically transfers the OS system files to the C drive. Since there was a dual boot setup, sys c would have replaced the files with the Win98 files. Too basic?

Actually, the win98 system files would already be on C:. What we want sys c: to do, in this instance, is rewrite the HD's boot sector so it passes control to io.sys, which boots DOS (and win9x), instead of ntldr, which boots w2k.

May I know how did you going to delete the WIN2000 partition ?
I have a system drive with 2 partitions, one is WIN98 and another is WIN2000 Advanced Server.
Now I not longer needed the WIN2000 Advanced Server partition and wish to delete it.
can you show me how to delete it ?

If win98 recognizes the w2k partition it can delete the files or reformat for you. Or, you can boot into DOS with a win98 startup floppy and use fdisk and format.
