how do I compress picture files ? winzip doesnt want to do it for some reason

Do you mean that Win-Zip will not compress the files or the compressed file is not any smaller?
Win-Zip will compress both these file types if it working properly. A .bmp will compress real good, however a .jpeg will become a .zip file type but will not get much smaller in size (if at all) because it is well compressed to begin with.

Sry the compressed file isnt any smaller.

But I've come across JPEG Cruncher which has compressed my JPEG's by 10 times.
