I work in a small office. We need to call a person in whenever we need something done on our system. Our Server runs NT 4.0 and all work stations runs Win 98.
Here's what i need to do.
I had to reformat a HDD on one of the computers, now i need to add it to the network. I know the identification of the computer. How do i add it to the server
Thanks in advance for all the help

The easiest way to do this is to go to a working pc and write down ALL the settings in Network Neighborhood Properties.
I already know all the properties
then what?
like i said i dont know a squat about NT. How do i set this work station on the server ?
"If the workstation was setup on the server before the formatt you shouldn't have to do anything to the server itsself. (as long as you use the same Computer Name under the id tab)"
Yes it was on the server
where do i find the names of all work stations on server. We are using only one Domain name on NT server

Dont forget to check the properties under client for MS networks and Log on to windows NT domain.
And the properties for the protocol bound to the network card.
Example:
TCP/IP->Kingston etherx PCI 10/100 adapter.
Check to see if your using DHCP or assigning IP addresses.
Youll see either
Obtain an IP address automatically
-or-
Specify an IP address

If the workstation was setup on the server before the formatt you shouldn't have to do anything to the server itsself. (as long as you use the same Computer Name under the id tab)
Under "Client for MS Network" choose properties and then put a checkmark on logon to NT domain and enter the domain name. Server Manager lists workstations. All you should need to do with a Win98 system is to make sure IP and subnet mask are correct for your network and that you setup the Client as above.

Click on Start/Programs/Administrative Tools (Common)/User Manager for Domains
That will list every machine that has an account on the server.
