is it possible? im looking to set up an ide raid system and wanting to have 2 operation systems like win 2k and 98. i saw a coment at promise's website that they don't encourage for me to use program like system commander. has anyone set up a system like i plan to build?

also another question i have maxtor's 91366u4(13.6 gb/7200 rpm/2mb) and western digitals expert(9.1gb/7200/2mb); which one should i buy another to match one of them? i read lots of report saying maxtor generally don't work well under an ide raid. but how about this particular drive?

thanks

For all intents and purposes, you can do anything with a RAID striped (for performance ) hdd that you can do with a regular hdd b/c the Fasttrakk fools the system into thinking it is one hdd. 2 operating systems will be fine. You may not have drivers for the fasttrakk on all OSes but I have run my fasttrakk mod before w/o drivers and still saw performance upgrade and no problems.

You can mix and match hdds but you can only stripe the smallest size (2 9GB's raided with an extra 4GB w/o any performance enhancement.) I haven't heard anything about Maxtors and RAID but they don't get the nickname Craptor for nothing. They are horrible overclocking hdds and after my experiences w/ them I will never buy another. No need to go out and get another though. For $25 you can get the ATA66 and the parts to mod it and try it out before getting a new hdd.
Good luck
Dave
