Is SAMBA limited to max file of 2G (like the FAT16/32)?

I was taring across to a W2K (NTFS5) share and when the filesize reached 2G (exactly!) I got a broken pipe and exited.

I can only presume that SAMBA is holding back linux users from creating >2Gb files on FAT16/32 partitions but like I said it's an NTFS partition.

Any way around that?

Thanks

What version of linux?

I beleive in Redhat 7.1/Mandrake 8.0, the 2gig limit was expanded. (2.4 kernel)

I use RH6.2 (2.2.14).

Is there any other way around it?

Thanks.
