Anyone else have this problem?

It's not the network, or any hardware/software on my system. I had identical setup under Win98SE. Yes, I have correct versions of everything for 2000.

I disabled the indexing service, to no avail. There is no findfast. Have the same protocols as under Win98SE.

Any thoughts?

Does IE just lock up or your entire system?

It is Windows Explorer, not IE (technically). I just wanted to make that clarification, should it make much of a difference.

Yes, just the Windows Explorer locks up. And, in MS's infinite wisdom, the result of killing Windows Explorer, is the loss of most icons in the system tray, and a Desktop/StartBar refresh.

Windows Explorer is extremely slow in opening folders, particularly network folders. When it locks up, it's usually on network folders.

I only have two other issues on this system, one is most likely a hardware issue, the other has been posted in the networking forum.

BTW, W2K has an indexing service, which I think I've managed to remove/disable.
