When I click the View Source command in Internet Explorer 5.5
(on the View menu, click Source), the source for the current
page is not displayed, and there is no error message.
Notepad is me default viewer.
I have Win98.

Thanks,
Dima

I've seen a problem w/this on ocassion. Look at Tools/ Internet Options/ Programs. Make sure Notepad or any text-editor shows in the "Editor" box. Also, hitting the "Edit" button on the Toolbar does the exact same thing as "View Source". If the Edit button is greyed out on the Toolbar, then you don't have a program assigned as an editor, and that's the reason.

When you have FULLY loaded any web page, hit "Edit" on the IE toolbar. Does it work? May need to change the default edit prog to maybe Wordpad.exe.

By "Edit", I meant the little Notepad-like icon on the toolbar. Hover your rodent over it for a second & see what pops up. Glad you figured it out. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks,
but what do you mean: hit "Edit" on the IE toolbar. Does it work?
Yes, it does work.
Edit button inclide
Cut, Copy, Paste, Select All, Find

...for two days I was trying to fix the problem. I placed this message in the other forums. But everybody teaching me how to specify an HTML Editor in the internet Options...
http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif never mind.
==================
But I fixed it. I did. ...by deleting Temporary Internet files. That's all what I did after hours on Microsoft site, reinstalling and so on...
And all seems to be OK for now.

Thanks more,
Dima

Dima-I had the same problem. Couldn't view source in IE5.5, I even upgraded to IE6, still a no go. Deleting temporary files did the trick!
