Have you seen Mac's new OS, X? It is sweet looking! It makes XP look like a dime store reject (well maybe not that bad, but you get my point http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif! It has shadows for the open windows, sweet glass looking scroll bars, awsome looking icons! You name it, it has it (look wise any way)! Is their any skins for windows, that make it look that nice (while still being just as funtional)?

Yeah, it looks nice but there is a bunch of hardware that it doesn't yet support.

You can go to Mac's web site for some cheesy pics.
I'm not saying it's anything super. It just looks awesome! I'm into graphics arts and it just sorta grabbed me!

Here some pics. It may be trash, but it's the prettiest trash I've seen in a long time!

it's not to bad, especially for being a mac product, but I've still seen some peoples configuration of gnome/hde that I liked the look of better http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Do you think you could post some pics?
I really liked X's style! The see through windows, and how the lay out is. I've just gotten so used to windows (ugh) that something like that makes me go "Wow"! Maybe I should install that copy of Linux I have. Could any one take me through how to dual boot? So I can still have windows to play games on. If it helps the linux distro's I have are Storm, and Mandrake 7.0.

Yeah. I guess they would have to change the name or something if it were for PC's too http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
As for my last question. I'll start a topic about it.
Thanks for the replies!

I remember signing a petition to ask Apple to opensource OS X last year, but I am unaware of the progression of this project. The final goal was to obtain the GUI's source code to cross develop the interface for x86 BSD. Does anyone else remember this effort, as I can not locate the link to the page?

From what I understand Mac OS X is based on Unix and you can Compile Linux apps to work for it. That would be cool. Mac's have the best looking GUI, and I hate to say it. also have the best photoshop and office 2001. They have extra features and load faster.

I'll try to post some screenshots, only, I upgraded to X 4.0.2 and that made my window managers get lost :O but once I get that fixed...
