Before you are flamed by all of the aol and Mac bashers, I'll respond.
Don't know if you could download it. You may have to find someone who has an older aol floppy for mac's. Who knows if aol supports the older versions? I remember starting my online life with AOL 2.0.
Good question on the file format, does anyone know the answer? I have never tried to download a mac file on my PC for obvious reasons. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

If I remember correctly, you can choose to make an ibm formatted disk on a mac, and also read ibm formatted disks. So as long as it fits on a disk, you can download it from a pc and copy it over.

BtT,
Yes the earlier versions of AOL are still supported by AOL but it is decreasing. My son's computer is a Mac performa 450 which is directly related to the LC models. He is running version 2.5 If you can not locate that or if your machine does not meet the min requirements for the newer versions (I havent looked in a long time) Email me and I will be happy to try and find his install disks for AOL.

Check here http://www.rtis.com/nat/user/toolbox/oldmacs/ I have my IIci online, 25mhz 4 megs ram, its on my kitchen table, takes up less space then a breadbox, and is an extremely functional tool in our household, Stylewriter printer fits on top and works perfectly... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
EDIT----> I also have an LCIII aka "pizzabox" forgot about it, was saving it as a Millenium backup, can ya imagine its value if everything took a poop like we thought it was gonna???
Oh yeah the 25 mg IIci cost 6000$ when it was new, I have the original invoice, can ya handle that?

You can find old versions of AOL at:

I don't know if there are Mac versions, though.
