I have been using Zone Alarm now for about 3 weeks. I have gone through the Alerts a few times just to see what was going on. Today I was looking through the Alerts and I traced a couple of the IP's were trying to access me.
www.dallasnews.com (http://www.dallasnews.com) tried 26 times to access me.

Internet Direct, INC. in Phoenix AZ (www.indirect.com) tried 10 times to access me. And they aren't even online yet as there their website says it will be online soon.

Am I stressing over it? Naw. Just wanted to share this with you all. Seems like someone is always trying to gain access to computers out here in Cyber Space.

Those may have been ad banners. I am not sure if ZA has fixed that bug. I thought they did though.

I don't even look at the log very often anymore because with the always on connection I get a ton of people scaning me.

I got lots of hits from ZA that I didn't get with BID. My security layers go from ZA, then to BID, then to Jammer. I only worry about a hit if it bypasses ZA and I only really worry when it gets to Jammer. It's only happened twice that I can recall.

daveleau... how do you layer those? Do you ever have problems with trying to connect with others comps with a firewall i.e. gaming, etc.?

Yep, Jim, they do!

I have the same setup as daveleau, and after seeing yourself getting hit enough, it's not paranoia - it's safer computing! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Some days I get hit more than others. Like tonite ZA has been going off like a firecracker, many by the same IP - oh, yeah, it's Friday nite. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif But some nights I may not get even one hit.

I'd give my thoughts, Faramir, but sorry, I don't game online.

Not neccessarily gaming , but any connection I guess. I've tried a couple communication programs and even transferred files through ICQ and if both comps have their firewall up the connection can't be made. Also when running 2 or more firewalls on one comp can they be truely 'layered' or do they all just run at the same time?
