You dont say, but if you have a PCI sound card, I thought this was pretty common. Also Mp3 decoders require a lot of processor power, so maybe its too much for the processor to decode (or is it encode) the Mp3's and decompress internet at the same time?

I have Task Manager running in the tray, and it's about 25% all the time, so I can't think that would be the prob. Yes, soundcard is SB 128 PCI, but there's no hardware changes, and I've never had this prob before, it has to be sowtware/OS related.. ( Right...? )
