I installed linux on my comp every worked fine except i couldnt get anything but "x window not configured."

The 810 chipset is a sore spot for Linux - Mandrake 7.2 is reportedly the only distribution that supports the 810's integrated video. The 810 chipset is a sore spot for Linux-just like printing, scanning, availability of software...just tell me where a multimedia encyclopedia like Encarta or Compton's is available for Linux?

Linux is a great server OS -I'm hanging in there, waiting for a better desktop..! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif <IMG SRC="http://www.dslextreme.com/users/cmonster3/squirtguin.gif" border=0>

I installed Mandrake Linux 7.2 on an HP6535. (466 Celeron, 64 megs RAM )

I tried 7.1, but the lack of 810 support made the video unusable.

7.2 installed easy, works fine.
