sound card reboots my system

I installed SoundBlaster Platinum on Win2k with the new correct drivers (livewire) and now my system reboots itself once I get into windows.
I have booted up in safe mode and removed the sound card and tried again and the same result.
What's going on?

My motherboard is an Abit KA7-100
