"Ultra2 SCSI (80pin, LVD) Comes with 68Pin LVD Adapter."

I am interested in purchasing a hard drive, and one hard drive i was taking a look at (ST118202LC, Cheetah) is 80pin with a 68pin converter.

My questions are:
1) Do these drives perform as well as their standard 68pin LVD drives?

2) What are your general thoughts on these drives, are they worth getting? (they are cheeper)

The 80 pin connector is designed to plug directly into a server case backplane.

The adapter will work fine.

I second BBA's response. I have used adapters before with great results.

Sounds good! The 80pin LVD drives seem to be a lot cheaper than standard 68pin LVD. I was just a little wary about using 80pin with a 68pin adapter. Thanks for the prompt response!
