um.....I cant seem to find AUTOEXEC.bat anywere (through an endless search)

You first need to have your folder options set to VIEW ALL FILES. Once you do that you should be able to find it (it might be totally empty as Win9x doesnt require it to run unless you have hardware or software that needs DOS support) It will be in your root directory of your booting drive. (usually C http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

if you formatted and installed windows from a 98/2K CDROM...then there might not be an Autoexec.bat file...neither need it at all really.

If you have Win98, start/run then type msconfig and ok.
