i installed CPUIdle and it seems to increase the cpu's temp. the temp is normlly @ 30C, but with CPUIdle running, the cpu's temp was @35C. All temps recorded at idle.

That's quite strange... It's should've cooled your CPU down a few 5 degrees at the least.....

Are you running WinNT/2K? If so, then uninstall CPUIdle, as NT already performs this option at the kernel level.

Otherwise, possibly try using RAIN or WatherFall Pro. Available at:

Yes, that is correct. NT4 and Win2K already have the HLT commands.. but you know what. I installed "CPUIdle V.1.0 for NT/Win2K" and it brough down the temperature by 5C. So I think it's obvious that NT/Win2K HLT commands are not doing its full job.....
