I ordered a Canon ZR10 from Best Stop Digital. I was assured that they had the camera in stock. I paid $50 extra to have them send me the camera overnight. It never showed up. When I called to find out what happened they told me they did not have the camera in stock, despite the fact that the sales person promised me it was on the shelf.
Customer Service told me it would not be in stock for three or four weeks. I tried to cancel my order and they hung up on me.
They next day I received a Broken Camera from them. I returned it and requested a new one.
They never sent it. BEST STOP DIGITAL TOOK MY MONEY AND DID NOT SEND ME A CAMERA!!
What can I do about this? Who else has had similar experiences?

First contact your Credit card company. Second contact First Stop again and tell them of the problem. 3rd Contact your BBB and the BBB in first stops town. (bbb= better business bureau). Many CC companies have built-in buyers insurance so it might be just as easy to have your CC company take care of the replacement as they will followup with First stop.

Also, please remember to keep you cool. I know from reading some ratings on other pages that were linked to pricescan.com a while back, that Best Stop Digital is a very bad place to order.
But keep you cool, when you call them, KEEP A LOG! note the time, date, who you spoke with and a summer of what conversation. Write down all names that each person brings up. If you are able to do so, record the conversations. If you go that route, you are required by law to tell the other person. A Simple, oh by the way I may record this for my records, should be okay.
Don't talk with the person who answers the phone. Ask for a manager or supervisor. Explain your situation (I would write up everything you know so each person you speak with gets the same exact story).
Also here are some links for you you:
http://www.bbb.org/ The Better Business Bureau. gopher://gopher.gsa.gov/00/staff/pa/cic/money/ccredit.txt (http://gopher://gopher.gsa.gov/00/staff/pa/cic/money/ccredit.txt) The government's Consumer Handbook to Credit Protection Laws

And this one I think is good reading and one that has examples on letters you can write to 'right a wrong' etc:

Good luck and keep us posted!

Here in Tennessee it is not a law to tell someone that you are recording a conversation if one party in the conversation knows it is being recorded, that one party could be yourself. I know this because my sister-in-law was told to do so by her lawyer while speaking to her ex-husband. You may want to check you states law if you do go that route.

Paul thanks for the links. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
