WInME Modem Problems

My father has a HP computer running ME. The internet connection was working fine for about 1 month. Now when he goes to log on, the MSN screen shows only about 1.2 of the screen and it kicks him off. I have went into the ISP connection properites and reset everything, reinstalled the modem, used my MSN id name and password, installed AOL (yes, I do not like AOL either) and I still get the same problem, the modem basically shuts itself off after about 30 seconds. Thanks in advance for any and all replies...

Hp released a lot of Win Me machines with LT Winmodems in them. Lucent did not get the drivers for ME written in time for it's release therefore ME has very very limited support for this modem. If indeed you have the LT Winmodem you can get drivers for it at <A HREF="http://808hi.com." TARGET=_blank>http://808hi.com.</A>

Oh and make sure you get version 5.92
