Well all I can say is that its a hassle to have to string cat5 cable all through the house for a cable moden and an in home lan...so a wireless setup woudl be nice...what is the pricing versus a wired setup?

well the pricing is as follows:

$60/month
free account setup
free installation on one computer (NIC included)
5 ips
512k up/128k down (guaranteed minimum, they hope to have it up to 1M down by the end of the summer)
AND *drum roll* ....... no contract

i guess i'll know in a week! woohooo!

Media One is the cable provider in my area and their Internet connection is called RoadRunner. They're coming out tomorrow to hook me up, and I'll post back to give you my first impressions.

They charge $39.95/month if you already have Cable TV. If not, $49.95. Hookup is free, but if you buy their Network Card, it's $59.

Actually, from the info I have, the Dallas/Houston areas are the first places they are doing this. Kind of a test market thing.

You aren't gonna see a lot of people answer back on this, unless they are in that area.

I think this is part of Project Angel, i read an article about it somewhere....

Ah, found it. http://www.planwireless.com/good_news_for_project_angel.htm
