It never used to happen, but now it does for some strange reason, and only in IE, Netscape is fine.

Most of the time when I go to download a file, it's retrieving "getmsg.htm" ... the only way around this is to say "Open the file" first (as opposed to save), then it will bring up the same menu again, I hit "Save ... " this time and I get the correct file. But why is it so often that I get this getmsg.htm file ?

I've reinstalled IE5, reinstalled the OS even... nothing seems to resolve it. To give you an example, every time I download an attachment (even WORD doc) from Hotmail, it will grab getmsg.htm first, I have to hit open, then choose save when the menu comes up again. I would have come to the conclusion this is a site problem, but it's been months and it doesn't happen in Netscape? Happens at work on a WIN2k machine, and at home on a 98se machine.

Can someone give me an answer, other than to "just use Netscape" ? Thanks for any advice.
