MP3 player off CD?

I hear that there might be something that could play MP3s off of the CD. Might already be out - I don't really pay much attention anymore - would be really helpfull - especially in the car - just imagine all the money you could save on CD's - could put a small box in the trunk or somthing, but that would be too much trouble - see ya
