HI Everybody,
I've got a destination 32' monitor- it came up in the 2k DM as such ~~ and after playing around with the video cards ( went back to a viper 550 vs voodoo1000 card ) the darn monitor just set itself to default (in control panel) . No setting in the DM for it to change (tried to check under the hidden menu in the panel choices) and even un/reinstalling the video card doesn't help, anybody know any fixes for this issue? I've been creeping around this board and don't see too many 2k posts. I think this might be a registry issue.

This system has a gateway monitor ( destination 32'), PIII 500, 320MBS PC100 RAM, Abit BE6 mobo, voodoo2, SBAwe64, cheap DVD decoder and Sanyo DVD-ROM.
One 8.4gb and 6.4gb hard drives. It's a work in progress.

Any help would be great.

There's no monitor icon listed in Device manager? Mine has it, and I just click the driver tab and update it, choosing 'one of the other compatible devices' options.

If you lost the monitor selection ability completely, something's definitely wrong with you driver loadset. You might have to go back to default VGA drivers, manually edit the registry to get rid of any other vid drivers, delete the associated files with it and the reinstall it again.

Sounds like a pain.

bad pain - reloaded WIN2K, and it solved it, installed a viper 550 2K has support for the card but still ( before the reload ) wouldn't let me alter the display, advanced settings and change the monitor, the problem might be I have a voodoo2 with beta drivers and I pulled a voodoo3 1000 out of the system. The destination is really there in the drivers list for 2k. Bummer I know there must be a better way than reinstall the O/S - but I did go in a remove ( via regedit ) every default monitor and voodoo setting that the tool would let me. and it still didn't fly. FORMAT C: baby. that 's the ticket. If anyone has any ideas about this I'd love to hear em' in case this crosses my path again.
