easiest way to change the register user for win98?

Is it safe for me to simply edit the value in the registry, or will this mess something up. Or do i have to format and install everything all over again???? Any idea's apprieciated thanks

Just open up the registry and search for the old/wrong name. When found, hit enter and type away.

HKEY_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\Curr entVersion
editing the paramaters here will for the most part just show you who the registered owner is, you could put Mickey Mouse here if you wanted, although If you ever decide to sell your computer as is, you should most likely change that. I have "USER" for my description.
