Ok i have 4 30pin simms that i don't know what size they are. Is there any way to tell what size they are by how many chips it has?? I need to know how to do this for 30-pin, 72 pin, and 168 pin. Is it possible?

But for now i need help identifiy these 4 chips. They are 30 pin. Anyone know what size?????????

I'm afraid my best suggestion is to pop them into an old motherboard and fire it up. Unless it's actually printed on the PCB somewhere, that might be the easiest way.

Yeah that's what i thought someone would say. The thing is that i don't have a old mobo to try it on. Oh well. Thanks a lot http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Joel,
Here is a link that may help you identify those simms, I wasn't able to read them from the screen-shot, but my first guess would be that they are 4 MB 30-pin parity simms (please don't quote me because I am not sure

Well the common size is 1 meg per stick, but there was also 4 meg sticks and I think 512KB per stick (although I may be mistaken). Most likely they're 1 meggers.

BTT, I thought so. I just remembered an old 286 I have lying around with a pair of 512K sticks in it.
