I tried to install WinNT workstation on my computer, that already contains Windows 98. I have a C: (FAT16), D: (FAT32), and two empty unpartitioned partitions.. Whenever, I try to install it, it would turn to a blue screen and display errors wif the whole screen fileed with system files and said INACCESSBILE_BOOT_DRIVE... What does this mean??? I have tried several times and it doens't work!? Any help would be apprectaited...
There are 3 possible reasons:
(1) You HDD is SCSI so the SCSI driver needs to be loaded.
(2) You have a HDD controller card that is PCI interface so the driver needs to be loaded.
(3) You have a built-in UDMA controller on your mainboard that needs the drivers loaded.
I've run into the same problem with my Abit BE6-II mainboard because the on-board UDMA66 controller driver needs to be loaded. On the beginning stage of the NT4 setup, you have an option to add a mass storage device by pressing "S", that is when you load the drivers for the HDD controller.

You could try going to an A: prompt, type in Lock C: and see if that works for you. Then install normally.
I know a lot of my installs need that to load. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
Typing lock and answering Y will only allow you to bypass making the three NT4 installation BootDiskettes.....

How do you load the drivers for the UDMA66 controller on ur m/b...?
Didn't your mainboard come with a CDROM that has the UDMA66 drivers? What brand and model is your mainboard?

My m/b is a GA-71XE Gigabyte Slot A m/b with k7-700... I tried to install it before.. and tried many times.. and 1 time it actually worked.. but i didn't have enough time to install it.. so when i restart it again later, it didn't work... weird!
Did you check on your mainboard CDROM if there is a UDMA66 driver? I went to the Gigabyte site, but their site didn't have much info on your mainboard, just a bunch of BIOS updates.
