I migrated to Win me from Win98, how do I go back to win98?. And since we are on subject http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I have a full version of Win98 se. If I want this, instead of Win98, how do I go about it:
Do I go back to win98 then install win98 se on top or do I need to erase win98 and do a clean install of win98se?
Thanks for your help.

the best thing to do in my opinion is to back up everything you want reformat it. Let other put there input before listening to me. if you have the full verison of win98se you can install it normally like win98 or win95.

GroundZero3 has the right idea here. Windows 98se will not take in to concideration that you have a higher version of Internet Explorer on your machine. This is if you do of course. SE has version 5.0 on it and if you have lets say 5.01, you will screw up your browser a bit. You will have to confirm all is well with I.E. by re-downloading and installing the version you had on your puter before installing SE.

IF you upgraded from Win98 then just uninstall Win Not ME if you saved a backup of 98 when prompted to.

You'll have to start clean to go to SE. I couldn't upgrade from 98 to SE with the full version, it wouldn't let me. It told me this isn't the upgrade version.
