I want to get set up with an online bill pay service. This one seems good, they receive your bills, notify you when they arrive, and you can view them online via a viewer (or PDF format?) and pay them online. My main concern is that you have to change your billing address to their address so they can receive the bills.

Anyone used them? Recommend for/against? Or, have any other online bill pay services that you recommend?

Thanks,
Scott

I haven't heard of Status Factory, but Here's some info., hope it helps...

Quicken offers a free online billing and payment service for a few utility and credit-card companies. If one of your regular billers participates, this lets you receive bills via email and view them in Quicken before making an electronic payment. Money Deluxe 2000 or Quicken Deluxe 2000 both let you dial up your bank, bring order to your bank accts, and keep tabs on your personal finances.

If you'd like to start banking online the 1st place to shop is Gomez.com's Internet Banker Scorecard at http://www.gomez.com
The Online Banking Report (http://www.onlinebankingreport.com) is another good resource

Among a few good online banks are:

-Security First Network Bank
www.sfnb.com (http://www.sfnb.com)
-Wells Fargo
www.wellsfargo.com (http://www.wellsfargo.com)
-Net.B@nk
www.netbank.com (http://www.netbank.com)
-First Internet Bank of Indiana
www.firstib.com (http://www.firstib.com)
-WingspanBank.com
www.wingspanbank.com (http://www.wingspanbank.com)
---------------------------------------------
Once you find a few candidates here are the questions that you'll want to answer:

(1) What's the initial amt. you'll need 2 open an acct?
(2)What are the checking acct. fees?
(3)What are the interest rates?
(4)Can you download transaction records directly to Quicken or Money? Do you need one of the pckgs. to use online banking services or will a browser suffice?
(5)What is the cost of online bill payment, can you aviod a fee by maintaining a certain minimum balance?

Here are a couple of tips for online banking:

-Ask whether the bank supplies pre-addressed envelopes with pre-paid postage so u can mail deposists on its dime, not yours. Sign up for direct deposit of checks
-When scheduling online bill payments, allow time for your bank to process those transactions. If you don't, you risk incurring late fees.
-Protect your PIN: If you bank online from work or anywhere else, log out completely and close your browser when you're finished. If you dont a friendly co-worker could see your acct. balances or make a transaction, change your password or PIN occasionally.
-And finally, always make sure you're on a secure connection, Be As Secure As possible (duh!)
---------------------------------------------

Hope that helped a bit, I'll try checking on that company you named, Status Factory, and see their credentials.

have a good one!

I appreciate your advice but I haven't had a chance to set up an account/service. I moved recently and have been waiting to get bills established and settled before paying them online. I'll look into it more soon.
