OFFICE 2000 (PLEASE HELP)

I have a user that has Microsoft Office 2000 installed on their computer. For some reason when I open either Word or Excel and click on file then open (To open one of my saved documents) it hangs and stops responding. I uninstalled Office and then reinstalled it but the same problem is happening. I found out that both Excel and Word are mapped to save things in MY DOCUMENTS. If I go into MY DOCUMENTS through Windows explorer my files open fine from there. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

Go into the Add/Remove programs and choose to uninstall Office2K and when the next window comes up choose REPAIR Have your office install disks handy as it will probably ask for it.
