HI,
I need to remove the second HD (linux Mandrake )so it can be used in a system I am
building for my daughter...I set it up as a dual boot with win95B on the other hard drive
with lilo. I was just going to format the hard drive and remove it from the computer and bios but what about lilo? Can I remove lilo and will I be able to access the win95b HD...My daughter has work saved on the win95 HD. I have a zip drive for back ups.
PS, The version of Linux I was testing is 6.0
is 7.0 a major improvement? Is Corel linux the way to go should I wish to put Linux on the new machine?

Thanks,
Breeze

If you want to get rid of LILO depending on how you installed it, you should be able to go to a DOS prompt and put fdisk /mbr to replace the master boot record with DOS's boot loader instead of LILO.
You'll need to repartition the Linux HD if you want to use it with WinDOS (you can delete "Non DOS Partitions").
Myself as far as Linux goes, I'm currently running RH6.1 and am waiting for Kernel 2.4 http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
It'll work better with my ATA66 HD then going through all the patches etc.

So at the dos prompt I type >fdisk/mbr (enter)? Then delete the none dos partitions
and reformat using my win 95 startup disk
I made....
Thanks for the reply!!
