Do I have to buy software decoders for my future DVD player? I figured it was like an MP3 player: free. I tried to find some but couldn't - except for this link: http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_Main.Entry?SP=10007&SID=25394&CID=0

It's as much as a hardware decoder!

Usually a DVD player will be included with a retail DVD drive, or even some video cards come with one. The only time you probably won't get one is when buying an OEM drive.
