Is it possible to get rid of the startup WinME splash screen.

Tweak UI works wonders for stuff like that. I don't know where to get it on the net. It has been here on the server for years.

the new 1.33 version of TweakUI does work for me fine (to disable the splash).

once again i'm running WINDOWS MILLENIUM EDITION and either version of tweakui (old or new1.33) does not have an option for DISABLING SPLASH SCREEN.

Would anyone know of the reg key because i couldn't see it after browsing for awhile.

All you have to do is choose boot at tweak ui an unmark the Display Splash Screen while booting
It works for me and it seems to work for everyone here

I am running WindozeME also and it is working just fine.
I just wish I could work out the other bugs.

The file for your startup screen should be logo.sys.

It is 320x400 pixel image. Anything else, and it won't load it. Replace the file with what you want your splash screen to be.

Or to disable it completly. put logo=0 in msdos.sys

And all you TweakUi fans should check out this site for some sad news about tweakui http://www.winmag.com/columns/insider/2000/30.htm

I'm giving up. tweakui has no "boot tab" or anything close, there is no msdos.sys and i've renamed all files resembling logo (winlogo, logo.sys, logo.jpg, etc)

I did appreciate your suggestions though

Personally, I like "Xteq" much better then tweak. It's free, offers more settings, and has a bunch af plug-ins you can add.
Haven't tried it on my ME box yet, but it claims full support for it. http://www.xteq.com/main.html

Xteq That's a great link!
It has the option for the splash screen and i try it but, upon reboot the splash is still there. I'm leanring to live with it.
