Have you thought about upgrading the forum BBS software to version v5.0.7 Pro? Or is that a different UBB software proggy than being used by Sysopt?

Another board I frequent for Toyota pickups http://bbs.off-road.com/wwwthreads//postlist.pl?Cat=&Board=offroadtoytruck did the update about a week ago. It has more features and runs great.

Not that I am complaining that this site runs poor. Just wondering is all.

I'd certainly like to upgrade the software, but EarthWeb is planning to migrate our forum, codeguru.com's forum, and other EarthWeb discussions, into one new software platform. It should include all of the features here, plus a lot more. So, that's why I haven't made any changes, because the new software is coming soon.

BTW, that Toyota BBS uses wwwthreads, a totally different software. There are updates available for this software (Ultimate Bulletin Board) but my above message applies unfortunately.

I'm hoping that all user ID's / passwords will be preserved. Hopefully post counts will be too, but I don't know about the "title" system.

Well all I care about is my user ID and Password. As long as they remain that's all I care about.

Maybe something to consider since it is being redone is to change how the title system works. Like make it so it is based on the amount of active time a member is here and and a certain number of posts based on that time here. Like six months and 500 posts make a senior member and 1000 posts and 1 year ultimate etc... JMO

I agree with jad1097. That way somene doesn't come on here and make tons of useless posts just to get a higher membership under his/her name.

The only reason I asked about new ID's is b/c I wanted hd580 instead of hd581 and sysopt (the UBB code, not Scott) won't let me have it.
