Ok i found a digital camera for $99.99. I just want it to be able to take a pic of a computer part so i can show a buddy through email or so i can post it here if i have a problem. You know there're are some things you can't scan. Like the inside of a case or the back of it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Of course i'm going to pay for this and i don't want a expensive one. For what? I just want it for me and my computer parts. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif So what do you think. This is a ad in Tiger Magizine that i get. Tell me what you think of it? Is it any good? I don't need any high resolustion or power optical zoom or any features i don't use.

Things to consider:

If you are just keeping it in your house or whatever for odd stuff, internal memory is fine. You will be seriously constrained if you need to take a buch of pictures out somewhere. Most of these cheaper cameras only have 2mb internal storage (about 8 pics in 640 fine mode, 16-20 in 320 'normal' mode). The same for those that come with small 2mb removable flash memory, but at least you can buy more/bigger cards.

I just bought a used Realisys (Mustek) Dimera 3500 640x480 camera on ebay, and eagerly awaiting it's arrival. It was just under $100 with shipping, but it included the AC adapter, which is often a $20+ add on. Everything I have read (reviews and board comments) stated that the AC adapter is a MUST, and will pay for itself in a short time. This is because these cameras ten to chew up the lithium (expensive) camera batteries quickly, especially when you are downloading the pics from the camera to the computer.

Do some more research on many different brands and styles, rather than "focusing" (hehehe) on one. Also, they will only come down in price as they improve. (It IS tough to wait, though, isn't it? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif )

Best of luck! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

jl123: I got a Polaroid ,I think, 660 for my birthday in April. The camera was ok, but the software was screwed. Returned it. I use my
instant camera and my scanner and it's software to print photos and put pictures on the web. Works easier to me. Either way you're gonna have to buy photo paper ,etc.
Just save the photo in your scanner software
suite and transfer where ever you want.

Thanks guys http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

This does come with a ac adapter. I will only be using this for showing friends how to do something over email(with pics). So i need some way to take a pic of computer parts so i can put them in emails and maybe print them out. But i will never use photo paper even though i have some. It's not for that. My mom might spend about 600 dollars on the one for travel and for the family. This one's just for me. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif And about the memory, i will probably buy a little bigger flash memory. But nothing like 16,32,or 64. Don't even know if these cheap ones take that much. But maybe a 8meg. I'm just going to be snaping a few shots for my reference and keep track of how to do something in case i have to help someone that doesn't live close to me. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Now about this 69.99 one? What is it and does it come with a lcd control panel and ac adapter?? What do you think of it??

No i'm not cheap, i just don't see why i would need a expensive camera http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I "had" an Agfa eSmile and it sucked blue whale p*nis...(largest p*nis known to man) even with the new high power AA batts it would take 4 of them to get 20 shots d/led to the computer and no A/C adaptor available, their suggestion was to use rechargable batts...takes 6 of em to get 20 low res shots into the computer, hope your experience is better if ya choose this camera, (or ya own a battery company) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Just in case you thought Inferior was joking, I thought I'd mention that a friend of mine bought the Barbie one for his young daughter.
Surprisingly, it really ain't that bad! Gaudy looking, but the pics are OK.

In all seriousness now though, If I really needed one really quick, and I was on a low budget, I'd consider getting one... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

But not likely though... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

The G.I. Joe idea would be a lot more plaussable though... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Camouflauge would look cool!!!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
