I want to go for this certification. Do any of you have any online training references/links/personal experience you can share about the exam?
I'm doing this as a self-study.

Ptrper 06-11-2000, 06:51 AM Hi ctaylor, I'm getting ready to take my A+ cert and I've been using Syngress's A+ certification. Its a blue and red book. Also been using A+ Certification for Dummies book and flash cards. Also have some tests that were downloaded. These have been very helpful and hopefully I will do well on the test. Good Luck!!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Mlope 06-11-2000, 10:47 AM There is an awful lot of info on the internet. I thought I heard that the test is going to change content soon. Is that so? HELLCAT 06-11-2000, 08:24 PM A+ is a good way to get your foot in the door. At first it looks like its impossible I know, but if you bite off one peice at a time, soon you'll see progress. I bought a couple books and a CD test program fron"supersoftware" off the net. The books were good but the software HAD THE WRONG answers? They FINALLY fixed the key after I mailed them. Anyway I got the questions off the book and my girl wrote the questions on index cards and drilled me every night<no jokes please> and when I could give her the right answer while not even seeing the multipule choices, I knew I was ready. I first took the software got a 92 and 2 weeks later the hardware test and got a 88%. All in all I think what helped me put THE most was all the late nights staying up working on friends systems <charity work>. Now I'm about 50% through N+ and am take classes on the MCSE 2000 trak. I have a great job at a mid size company where I get to "play" and learn all day long, and the A+ exams started it all for me, study hard and KNOW what your talking about and it will for you too! Good Luck....... Remember that passing the N+ test requires at least 82% -I squeeked by with a 95% Now I just have to learn server administration for 3 NOSs and I'll be somewhat computer literate.. LiLRiceBoi 06-11-2000, 10:33 PM I am relativly knowledgable with computers and was going to study this summer and take the test. Can i learn it all in 2 months? CMonster 06-12-2000, 12:39 AM The A+ test is slated for major changes around the end of December 2000; Do not invest in current study materials unless you feel you are going to be ready to test and pass before December. for more information go to www.comptia.org (http://www.comptia.org) jad1097 06-12-2000, 12:56 AM Here are a few links. http://www.apluscertification.com/aplus.htm http://www.mcpprep.com http://www.bfq.com/apluscert.html http://www.dalidesign.com/prepap/apad.html http://www.aplusexam.com CMonster 06-12-2000, 02:07 PM LilRiceBoi - if you are fairly knowledgeable in computers already then with 2 months of diligent study and practice exams you could achieve a passing score on the A+ tests SysOpt.com
