Hi I have never overclocked anything before. I was looking at prices today and have decided on the specs of a system I want to build. I basically think an athlon 700 hits the sweet spot for the processor. BUT after I buy my parts I have no clue on what to buy as far as a case, cooling parts, and a motherboard that would allow me to overclock an athlon 700 the best? I have no experience or know anybody that does this kind of thing to help me out so looking at the market today I was hoping their was a clear cut answer as to what "best" parts their are to get?
If anybody could be so kind to take the time to give me part numbers and what are recognized to be the best reguardless of price as far as the motherboard and case goes I would greatly appreciate it.
As far as the overclocking goes I don't want to go nuts and don't know what to even shoot for. My #1 goal is to be stable in win 98 se as I do business work and love to game. I also plan on overclocking my video card but I'll leave that for another post.
Oops I forgot to add that I would get however big a power supply is needed. I was thinking 400 watts just to be safe. Inside my computer I only plan on running a single ide hard drive, cd rom drive, cd rom burner, floppy drive, video card, modem, nic, and sound card so I don't need allot of bays.
And I suppose I need a good brand of ram also that will put up with the overclocking environment and of course I want it to remain stable.
