Mouse

Hi, I had to reinstall Win98, and all my progs.
Everything seem to be working normal, however, there is this annoying thing that my mouse is doing: The machine would be idle and the pointer keeps switching from an arrow to a hour glass, all by itself.
I never encounter this before, have you?

i had this problem it turned out to be my cd burner had kicked the bucket and was using 100% of the cpu once every second. as soon as i disconected it everything was fine. it took me 2 weeks to figure that out cause my mother board was bad so they both drove me nuts for a while. if you dont have a burner maybe your cd rom would do the same if its bad. try yanking the power cable from it and booting without it to see if it still does it.

Thanks Freem, you might be right, I just noticed that the light in my CRAPPY hp burner is flashing.
If anybody is considering buying a cd burner, do yourself a favor and stay away froom Hewlett Packard. At least the CD Writer Plus.

I never had that problem. I have an HP 9200 SCSI 8xburn.
