Hi,
I want to schedule at my work all the PCs to automatically run LiveUpdate every week. I go to the Scheduling, choose New Event -> Schedule LiveUpdate blah blah, set time and day and... it doesn't run! The scheduling is not working! I have checked both boxes at the Scheduling tab in the options of Norton Antivirus. Am I missing something?
The OS is Win NT 4 Workstation and I run NAV 2000. Also, the LiveUpdate runs just fine manually.

You will have to make sure that you have norton RUNNING including Norton scheduler in the system tray for it to autolaunch the update. I bet you have scheduler disabled somewhere

Hi Mntsnow,
I really appreciate your answer. I'm pretty sure I have Norton Scheduler started up. If I schedule something to run (for testing) it will. The problem is with the LiveUpdate. If I run it manually it d/ls info about new updates (not the updates themselves) and if there is an update that I haven't installed yet it allows me to check it and then start the d/l and installation procedure of it. But, when LiveUpdate is scheduled I get no such dialog box (anyway, I don't want to; I need it to be totally automated) and so it doesn't do any updates.
Norton AntiVirus is a very common program and I'm pretty sure it is a choice of many ITs. Isn't there any IT here to tell me how he managed to get the Norton Antivirus updated automatically?

I hate to do this, but I really need an answer to that question. It is absolutely critical to me. So, I make this post to raise this question to the top (sorry socalgal and Mntsnow, hope you understand) hoping I get some more answers here.
One more thing. Generally, when LiveUpdate is updating the virus definition files, at the System Status, NAV tells that it cannot determine the date of the virus definitions. This is because they are in use, as they get updated. So, when the scheduled LiveUpdate runs I indeed see this message, which means that the definition are being updated. But, after it finishes I check that no update was made!
So, what the h#%$ is going on?
