This is the first time I have ever ran into this problem. My ISP allows 4MB storage space, real generous huh?
Anyway, I have been made aware by several people that tried to e-mail me that the e-mails failed to get delivered. Mailer deamon messages and so forth.
Well stupid me, I didn't know that the storage limit includes everything, web pages, e-mail, etc..
So I was near the storage limit and the e-mails were getting kicked out. It took a phone call to my ISP to discover this. I then deleted alot of unused files that were just laying on the server that I had previously used.
Looks like I need to go elswhere if I want to expand my web site. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Yeah...4megs now days goes really fast. With my website and the few utilties and pictures that share and keep loaded for sharing here I have chewwed up over 30 megs (lucky me my ISP allows 50 and website hosting company gives me 50 megs as well)
You might check what it would cost to get them to increase your drive space as that might be easier for you...but then of course there is TONS of website hosting services where you can get 30+ megs of space for free!
Good luck

I know the feeling, as people try to send me monsterous emails all the time, but I have a unified storage limit for all services. My account will go above my 5 meg limit, but will block all imcoming messages after until I download/remove the oversized message. I filter my main account. Then I try to split most of my resources across several email accounts to bypass this issue, and it works for the most part.

I'm confused, when I log on my email is downloaded to my computer. Are you saying if you don't check your mail for a few weeks it will get full? Or are you talking about web-based mail like yahoo?

Until you download your e-mail, it sits on your ISP's server.
If your personal storage space is used up by other things, web pages, etc.., e-mail that is sent to you wont get to the server. The server will say, "sorry, full" and kick it out, and the sender will recieve some error message. The e-mail never gets to you.

Check your settings/preferences for IE/Netscape. There's probably a box there that says "Delete from server when downloading?"

Most setups automaticaly delete the mail on the server side once the mail client has downloaded it. Once I download the large email and remove it from my ISP's server, business proceeds as usual. But if the file satys there, and exceeds my limit, my account is suspended until it's removed by me.

Good for you, you get 4mb. I only get 2mb, that's why I wasn't able to get my page on-line, since. I have to find ways to get it small enough, considering my mail.

I'm not sure if I could even create a website with that limit.

Well lucky for me I use a private server for my web site ,which btw now exeeds 100mb (It's adult oriented so don't go there if you are easily offended)
But I do make sure that I collect my mail on a daily basis .So I have never had my isp on my back.
4mb does seem really small though!!!
