I just purchased Corel Linux distribution. Is there a way to install it on a drive on a UDMA66 Promise card.

I get the impression from my attempts and what I'm reading hat I'll have to put the HD back on the motherboard for the install and then install a driver, rebuild the kernel and then it will go UDMA66 ok.

Is there anyway to tget the UDMA66 driver on a boot floppy to read first?

You pretty much summed it up. Did you check with Corel?

Not sure about Corel, but under Mandrake or Redhat, you need to select "expert mode" at installation time. This will prompt for a driver diskette. Of course you will need a Linux driver for UDMA-66, for your Promise card. You might need to contact Promise, to see if they have one.
