It comes with "8Mb" buffer! Any info about this drive or Acer CD-RW's in general?

This Acer drive is really nice. I have not used it, but it is supposed to support RAW write which is nice for burning direct images of drives and get around errors on the disk whether they are intentional errors or not. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif Supposed to be a really nice drive. I would love to get one myself but i cannot justify it since I already have a couple of burners.

I have an Acer 4X4X32 burner and have been very happy with it. Seems to have been a good burner for me.

Sounds worth looking into. I'm hoping to buy my 1st burner soon. Will a 166mmx@188 run a burner ok? Or do i have to put it in my PII350....I hate that machine.

I owuld highly recommend you put it in the 350. I have 2 burners at work. One of the systems is a P200 and the other is a P166. Both systems are SCSI throughout though. Some of the burner software requires a P200 or better. Why do you hate ytour PII 350?

It's slower than my 166/188 (win95)for many things. Although the 350 (win98) can handle doing other things that the 166 can't.
The 166 opens programs alot faster.
They both have the same amount of ram, 64MB.
Maybe cuz the 350 is mounted in a PC Chips mobo, not sure. This 166 on a Tyan 1576 I built just works very smooth and quick for what I use it for.

Maybe it's just cuz the 166 is "mine".

TO shadow: The P2 350 should still perfrom better than your Pentium system. Maybe the registry needs some serious cleaning out. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I got the same problem.... my celi 333 is running like ****... how do I do a freshly clean. I formated the drive not long ago and did a fresh install... that would get rid of everything in the registry rigth??
also win98 which I use, its a lot slower than win 95 which I hate
