In December I noted about the upcoming 11 anniversary of the magnetic pole reversal of the sun. This causes havoc on communication and power delivery systems. Tonight in Ga they predict a possibility of aurora visibility. I hope to see it yet I hope the storm isn't that strong because of increased hazards to industry and to humans from UV. http://www.cnn.com/2000/TECH/space/06/08/geomagnetic.storms.update/index.html

i thought the solar winds give the northen lights, we are learning about that right now. solar flares and storms cause electrical disturbances (blackout in quebec and the satellite 1 and 2 situation). http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

well, in the year 2005, we are "supposedly" suppose to have a very major solar storm. Right now, we only have mild solar flares, and of course, solar winds, but we'll see the big one at 2005. It'll either hit us, or bounce off, it depends on the poles. If it's a negative and we're a positive, it'll really really hurt us bad, if it's a positive, then it'll just go around earth's magnetic field. Simple isn't it? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
