The IBM Deskstar line has been great for me.

I have the 20.5 GB, 7200 rpm, ATA66 drive.

It was inexpensive, cool, and quiet.

I have the 18G 7200 IBM Deskstar, and it is quiet as a whisper...Zzzzz

how abt maxtor. Since they are being made by IBM, shouldnt be louder
