since my old ATI is incompatible (doesnt boot with it will with other pci cards), I have to make a decision on a new vid card:

Current system:
Cel 366 slot1 retail (plan to go to 412 or 458, if components can handle it, most are ISA anyway http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif)
Asus p2-99 (new Asus release, ZX chipset, same as BX really but less memory slots.)
64 meg pc100
Creative Soundblaster 16 isa
USR 33.6 ISA
8x creative CD
6.8 gig Maxtor UDMA (most people resolved higher pci speed by turning down PO to 3 that I've heard of)
another 1 gig drive but it won't be in there http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Anyway, I'm a little strapped for cash.. I'd want to get a real good vid card, but only have about ~200 Canadian, since I want to buy some games.

I can't seem to find any TNT2 16 meg versions besides Xentor Maxi Gamer (they any good?) for $180

(the 32 meg TNT2's are about 250~270 here (retail, Viper or Asus)

Keep in mind 15% tax sucks eh? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

or should I consider a Voodoo3( I can't take advantage of 4x AGP anyway). I mean, the screens I've seen.. the 16bit TNT2 looks EVERY SO SLIGHTLY better.. I mean very neligble. But TNT2 can do 32bit. I doubt I'd ever use it. I dunno. They both seem to get about the same framerates @ 16bit (Voodoo 3 a little higher with p2/celeron, TNT2 higher with P3 which I don't have http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif)

Any suggestions???

If you only got 200 bucks to spend on new comp parts, get a V3 2000 or TNT2 16mb (u can get them cheaper im sure, but not from a retail store) These are the cheapest and best and im pretty sure thier comparable in price (about $100 US if u go to www.pricewatch.com and do a price search)
And taxes bite....Havin no job is worse....ugh....

Yeah but is the extra 16 megs worth an extra $80 that could be spent on 2 games (i'm on a low budget here.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif)

I'll prob. won't use those other 16 megs anyway

And the Ultras have a bit higher of a speed but whew! Expensive http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
