Recently I reinstalled linux(Redhat6.1) due to kernel crash. But now when I try to connect to the net my netscape says "cannot find the server".
Can anybody tell me the solution?
Thanks.

How are you connecting to the net? Are you using a modem or NIC (cable or DSL)? If you're using a modem, what program do you use to connect?

I use a modem.I connect through GNOME using
dial up configuration tool and RH dialer.

Hmm... I haven't used those tools, so I'm not sure what it asks you for. Is your modem getting to the other side?
Assuming your physical connection is working, the first thing I'd check is to make sure /etc/resolv.conf has your name servers listed. Your ISP should provide these IP addresses to you. There should be 2 or 3 of them.

Yep,
mrdisco is correct. I has this problem last night. I would dial in but no DNS server. Although the RH dialer lets you enter the DNS servers, it ignores them. I edited the /etc/resolv.conf as root added my serach and nameserver settings and boom... I'm online.
